Sandy was often ask to copy old family pieces. He particularly enjoyed ‘conversation pieces'.

Sandy was often commissioned to copy family portraits. This one was commissioned by The Duke of Buccleuch.
OLD MASTER COPIES
Sandy was commissioned to reproduce many old masters. This painting of Catherine de Breganza was for The Portuguese Embassy.
PORTRAIT PAINTER
Sandy was primarily a Portrait Painter and Water colourist. Here is an example of Lord Provost John Miller of Edinburgh, being presented at the City Chambers
